AVK Gulf conducted a focused knowledge sharing workshop for the engineering team at KN Consultants in Abu Dhabi, supporting consultant and hydraulic engineers with practical expertise in control valve applications and selection. 29-01-2026

The workshop took place at the KN Consultants facility in Abu Dhabi and was led by AVK’s Gulf Technical Advisory Engineer, Mohammed Usman Faiz. The session provided in-depth technical knowledge tailored specifically for consultant hydraulic modelers and engineers involved in water infrastructure design.

Key topics included diaphragm valve applications, an overview of AVK’s control valve product range, and advanced solutions such as AVK SMART control valves and needle (plunger) valves. Participants gained a clear understanding of how different valve types perform under varying operating conditions and how to select the most suitable solution based on network requirements.

A comparative discussion of diaphragm and needle valves in real-life applications helped engineers evaluate performance, efficiency, and suitability for different locations within water distribution systems. The session also addressed correct valve placement to ensure optimal control, reliability, and long-term system performance.

The workshop concluded with hands-on training on the AVK Control Valve Selection Software, allowing participants to experience practical valve sizing and selection based on actual project parameters.
